What we're listening to: America 'America'

Although this is the Band's 1971 debut Album which went straight to Billboard's Number 1, we're not sure if the more familiar (and iconic) Album cover isn't this one...everyone seemed to have it....

Actually they're "English" too (!).

A trio who met in London as sons of US Air Force people stationed there and their debut launched them in 1970. Folk/Rock but based on almost 'Beach Boy/CSNY' harmonies, 'A horse with no name' is their huge hit (which definitely has a Neil Young ring to it - listen below).

But they had other great songs like 'I need you', 'Muskrat Love', 'Ventura Highway', 'Tin Man', 'Woman Tonight', 'Sandman' and 'Daisy Jane'. You'll get them all by getting both records.

A very unique style and in a way, very 'poppy' but that's not to take away from them one bit - remember, as we always say, keep your ears open and leave your preconceptions behind. Because these records are quite great. Inoffensively so.

If you haven't heard them (nobody in Streamabout had!), give them a go. Have a listen now...
